From RewireLondon’s very own Alison Coward – here are some notes on her session at RewireLondon (scroll down for the very cool video illustrating the process!):
Alison presented the results of BracketLab – a 2 day project where a group of six independent freelancers were brought together to collaborate on a creative brief. This is the model for a new agency that Bracket is launching. The presentation sparked lots of discussion around:
- Techniques for effective collaboration and project management
- Whether groups of creatives are able to self-manage themselves, or whether a project manager/facilitator will always be needed
- How to assess an individual’s ability to collaborate – and selecting them to work in a project team on this basis, not just on their creative portfolio
- Online tools to support creative collaboration
- Challenging the traditional agency model
- How to sell this concept to potential clients – what is the USP?
- Whether clients will be involved in the collaborative process and at what points.
